European Real Estate Portfolio Management, Associate Director/Director

Overview

As part of Barings’ Real Estate European Value Add Fund team, you will support portfolio and asset-level decision making in a cross-functional setting. You will develop fund models, monitor spend and cash flows, and prepare timely client reporting. You will work with local teams and JV partners to reflect portfolio movements and performance, while supporting fundraising and investor communications. This role offers exposure to European markets, structured transactions, and active asset management within a growing fund platform.

Responsibilities

• Support portfolio management, including quantitative analysis of business plans and tracking budgets
• Develop and maintain fund models for performance and forecast reporting
• Collate committed vs. actual spend and monitor subscriptions, redemptions, and distributions
• Produce fund and client reporting with accuracy and timeliness
• Coordinate with performance and marketing teams for client materials
• Sourcing market insights and supporting regional strategy discussions
• Assist in underwriting, deal review, and assessing partner capability
• Lead bi-weekly asset management meetings and oversee financing strategies
• Prepare fundraising materials and track record presentations

Key requirements

• 6-9 years’ experience in real estate organization, real estate private equity fund or real estate division of an investment bank
• Strong modelling and analysis of complex deals and financial structures
• Pan-European transaction experience with joint ventures, SPAs & FAs
• High attention to detail and numerical proficiency
• Stakeholder liaison and relationship-building skills
• Ability to present financial data clearly to inform business decisions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Fluency in English; additional languages advantageous
• Willingness to travel
• Hands-on asset management / development management experience preferred
