Overview

In this Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorgan Chase’s Equities Trading Technology Organization, you will shape an award-winning algo execution platform and related systems. You collaborate with quants, traders, and technologists to deliver scalable, secure market-leading technology that supports global trading. You’ll build, test, and optimize real-time, low-latency solutions across the trading engine and related infrastructure. This role offers global collaboration and a direct impact on trading performance and stability, with a clear emphasis on innovation and operational excellence. You will help drive the platform to support firm objectives in a fast-paced, multi-regional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop algo trading strategies and execution platform
  • Design and develop simulation environment and maintain automated testing for strategies under simulated market conditions
  • Enhance existing strategies by analyzing analytics and refining models/signals
  • Investigate and resolve strategy behavior issues in collaboration with the desk
  • Develop scalable real-time processing solutions using agile methodologies
  • Identify opportunities to automate remediation and improve software and system stability

Key requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with advanced Java experience
  • Proficiency in low-latency, real-time, scalable trading systems
  • Experience with high-throughput messaging APIs and middleware
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a global NA, EMEA, APAC team
  • Experience with algorithmic trading, including systematic trading
  • Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
