As a Management Accountant in Christchurch, you will oversee segments of the general accounting function, ensuring GAAP-aligned record-keeping and accurate management reporting. You’ll support financial analysts, contribute to audits, and drive improvements in accounting controls. You’ll lead the ledger maintenance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable financial insights. Responsibilities
- Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers and prepare operating and financial statements
- Assist in developing goals, policies, budgets, and accounting procedures
- Install and maintain new accounting procedures and controls
- Oversee fixed asset control, depreciation, accruals, and tax-related reporting
- Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting
- Develop and mentor team members across core accounting functions
Key requirements
- 2 years PQE
- Experience with complex ERP systems
- Experience identifying and resolving complex accounting issues and discrepancies
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Understanding of accounting regulations, compliance, and internal controls
- Proven ability to develop and mentor a team of accountants
