Overview

As Analyst, Funds you evaluate, execute and monitor private equity fund commitments and direct co-investments, collaborating with deal teams to deliver timely, decision-ready analyses. You’ll build a well-rounded skill set across quantitative analysis, investment judgement, and communication while supporting relationship development with sponsors and LPs. You work across private equity to advance CPP Investments’ long-term priorities and value creation. This role offers exposure to global opportunities, rigorous analysis, and cross-asset collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate and support private equity fund commitments and direct equity co-investments
• Use proprietary and third-party data to perform investment research, financial modelling, valuation, market analysis, due diligence and portfolio monitoring
• Support multiple concurrent deal teams, balance priorities and deliver accurate, decision-ready analysis
• Prepare and present investment opportunities for investment committee discussions and review opportunities from other deal teams
• Support senior team members in developing relationships with private equity firms, LPs and other market participants across origination, due diligence and post-investment monitoring
• Collaborate across Private Equity and, where required, other asset classes on strategic projects advancing CPP Investments’ long-term priorities

Key requirements

• Relevant work experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity or a related field
• Demonstrated financial modelling, valuation, research and analytical skills
• Ability to assess complex information, develop practical solutions and communicate conclusions clearly to senior colleagues
• Foundational understanding of the private equity ecosystem
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively while managing multiple priorities and deal processes
• Willingness to travel as required
