Sr Manager of Software Engineering (C++ / FICC Etrading)

Overview

In this role you will help drive the development of secure, scalable market-leading technology within JPMorganChase’s eTrading team. You will provide technical guidance, deliver high-quality production code, and influence design and operations across a cross-functional group. You’ll work to advance AI-assisted engineering practices and ensure secure, efficient SDLC execution at scale. This is a chance to shape critical trading technology and collaborate with across-the-organization to deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others’ code
• Drive product design decisions and influence technical operations
• Act as a subject matter expert across focus areas
• Contribute to engineering community and promote firmwide SDLC frameworks and practices
• Influence adoption of leading-edge technologies within and across teams
• Support diverse and inclusive team culture
• Drive AI-assisted engineering adoption with measurable validation standards and reuse of proven patterns in SDLC/TLM toolchain
• Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted development capabilities to maximize automation at scale

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced knowledge of C and C++
• Experience leading use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools (coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting)
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, and security expectations; experience coaching others on compliant usage
• Advanced knowledge in at least one technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile)
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight
• Practical cloud-native experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
