Overview

As Senior Legal Counsel at BWSC in Warrington, you will deliver commercially focused legal guidance across contracts, governance and compliance to support international projects. You’ll collaborate with management and external counsel to mitigate risk and protect BWSC’s interests in a global energy context. You’ll stay ahead of regulatory changes and lead dispute resolution efforts when needed. This role offers meaningful impact in advancing sustainable energy solutions and corporate governance in a dynamic, international environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on contract law, commercial transactions, corporate governance and dispute resolution
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts critical to projects and partnerships
• Identify and mitigate legal risks through risk assessments and advised strategies
• Support corporate governance and ensure compliance with local and international regulations
• Collaborate with external legal counsel on complex issues
• Monitor legislation and industry regulations to maintain BWSC’s compliance
• Manage dispute resolution processes including litigation and arbitration
• Educate internal teams on legal topics to foster a culture of legal awareness

Key requirements

• UK legal qualification or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant legal experience, in-house or law firm, with commercial contracts and corporate law exposure
• Knowledge of UK law and international frameworks, cross-border matters and dispute resolution
• Fluent in English; Danish is an advantage but not required
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize
