Controls Engineer

Overview

You will own PLC/controls projects on a Yeovil manufacturing site, with Siemens-focused tooling and bespoke equipment. Expect structured training and clear progression as you deepen your controls expertise. You’ll work end-to-end on automation improvements, panels, networks, and data capture, with flexible days and overtime. This role suits a technically driven engineer seeking depth and long-term growth within a stable, specialist team. You’ll contribute to a culture of in-house innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver PLC/controls projects across a busy manufacturing site
• Develop and optimize PLC code and control logic
• Improve machine performance and data capture
• Support fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Upgrade panels, networks, and data capture systems
• Own projects from concept to delivery with end-to-end responsibility

Key requirements

• HND (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
• Experience as a Controls Engineer or advanced Electrical Engineer transitioning into controls
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a busy engineering environment
