Senior Medical Writer

Overview

As a Senior Medical Writer, you will lead day-to-day delivery of complex medical content across therapy areas, with guidance from senior colleagues. You’ll engage with clients and external experts to shape scientific narratives and patient pathways, while mentoring junior team members. You will drive content development using AI tools to streamline projects, improving efficiency and quality. This role sits at the crossroads of science, strategy, and client collaboration, offering the chance to influence medical communications on a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead content delivery for complex projects with supervision
• Interrogate briefs and flag issues early
• Develop compelling scientific narratives from complex data
• Quality control of deliverables and feedback on work
• Lead on-site program elements for events
• Client liaison to capture briefs and progress scientific content
• Support growth and new business through scientific content for new areas
• Provide timely project progress and writer-hours communication
• Mentor junior writers on therapy-area knowledge

Key requirements

• Strong scientific background with degree in a scientific or medical discipline
• Experience in medical writing at MW level or higher
• Passion for healthcare, science, medicine and the pharmaceutical industry
• Keen interest in AI technologies
• Personable, articulate, and relationship-oriented
• Experience mentoring MWs and client interaction
• Post-graduate degree preferred
