Immigration Senior Associate – Birmingham

Overview

In this role you will join an international firm as a Senior Associate in immigration, handling complex corporate and private client matters. You will advise on sponsor licences, UK immigration routes, and Home Office compliance while expanding the practice and nurturing client relationships. You will lead and mentor junior lawyers and contribute to business development, training, and thought leadership. This is a client‑facing, market‑aware position with a focus on high‑quality, commercially minded immigration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of complex corporate and private client immigration matters with minimal supervision
• Advise employers on UK business immigration, including Sponsor Licence applications and Skilled Worker routes, Global Mobility, and compliance
• Advise private clients on ILR, citizenship/naturalisation, family and partner applications, and global mobility matters
• Develop the Immigration practice and grow client relationships
• Prepare articles and briefing papers on immigration developments
• Present at client trainings, seminars, and industry events
• Contribute to pitches, panel reviews, and strategic business development initiatives
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers

Key requirements

• 7+ years PQE within a recognised immigration practice (pre-qualification considered)
