Overview

As an HR Business Partner, you partner with managers to guide the full employee lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance and shaping people initiatives. You will balance hands-on operational support with strategic HR projects across engagement, development, and policy. The role focuses on employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and governance to support business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive people initiatives and uphold GDPR and payroll accuracy. Pay / Benefits

  • salary up to 55,000 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues (absence, performance, grievances, wellbeing)
  • Support recruitment activities (advertising, screening, interviewing, offers)
  • Manage onboarding/offboarding to ensure a positive experience
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with engagement, learning, and development goals
  • Support performance management, career development, and succession planning
  • Contribute to HR policy/procedure development and reviews
  • Assist with contractual/employee relations discussions while ensuring UK employment law compliance
  • Maintain accurate HR records and GDPR compliance
  • Prepare and check payroll, time and attendance reports within monthly deadlines
  • Keep up to date with payroll requirements, employment law, and HR best practices

Key requirements

  • Broad HR generalist/HRBP/HR advisory experience
  • Strong and current understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Ability to balance operational support with long-term HR projects
  • Proactive, hands-on, solutions-focused with good judgment and discretion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage at all levels
  • Strong organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with HR, payroll or time and attendance systems is advantageous
