Systems Engineer Sever / Network

Overview

In this role you will own the network and infrastructure across two data centres for a fast-paced fintech operations team. You will work closely with a high‑impact, international group to maintain and improve the Windows stack, virtualized infrastructure, and on‑premise/ cloud integrations. You’ll drive automation and tooling to enhance monitoring, incident response, and software release processes. This position offers a hands‑on, technically diverse environment with meaningful impact on operational reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage network/infrastructure across two data centres
• Manage hardware and software, monitoring, backups, and incident handling
• Oversee releases of internal and external software
• Manage UK infrastructure
• Build and improve automation and tooling
• Support monitoring and incident response activities
• Maintain and improve monitoring infrastructure

Key requirements

• 2 years commercial experience
• Cisco Networking (CCNA) and WiFi
• Windows Server 2003-2016 (AD, IIS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, MDT/WDS, SCC)
• Windows Desktop 7-10
• MS SQL Server 2008-2016
• Fortinet UTM Firewalls
• Couchbase
• VPN
• NetApp FAS
• VMware ESXi
• MS Exchange 2010-2016
• Veritas Backup Exec
• Sophos Enterprise
• Some Linux Skills (Ubuntu)
• Ideally PowerShell
• AWS knowledge
