GP Partner/Salaried GP – Scottish Borders

Overview

Join a friendly, well-supported rural practice in Melrose/Newtown St Boswells after a partner retires in 2027. You will work 2–8 sessions with a MDT-focused team, benefiting from strong links to Borders General Hospital and a training practice ethos. Expect a mix of routine 15-minute appointments, limited home visits, and no mandatory out-of-hours, with scope to develop specialist interests. Responsibilities

• Deliver 15-minute routine appointments across 2–8 sessions per week
• Engage in MDT care alongside district nurses, health visitors, physiotherapy, pharmacy, and CTAC
• Minimize home visits and no on-call out-of-hours commitment (optional locally)
• Contribute to continuity of care and chronic disease management in the practice
• Support training activities for ANPs and FY2s
• Collaborate to maintain sustainable workload and high-quality patient care
