Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services (MEP)

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical design delivery for multi-disciplinary building projects, ensuring compliant, high-quality MEP solutions. You’ll collaborate with architects and engineers to shape sustainable spaces from concept to detail. You will oversee design outputs and support project commercials through planning and invoicing. Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day mechanical design delivery for multi-disciplinary building projects
• Oversee production of specifications, drawings, and schedules
• Support commercial success through invoicing, WIP management, and workload/resource planning
• Mentor junior team members including graduates and apprentices
• Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate MEP solutions
• Contribute to project delivery with sustainable, innovative design thinking

Key requirements

• Proven mechanical engineering experience in the UK with a track record delivering M&E solutions across varied building sectors
• Familiarity with BIM processes and tools including Revit
• Collaborative mindset and experience working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams
• Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or building services (HNC/HND/Bachelors/Masters)
• Chartered status or working towards it
