Training Manager – Corporate Legal Knowledge

Overview

In this role you will lead and evolve the training programme for the CTA/PE groups within a global law firm, partnering with knowledge leaders to deliver impactful legal training. You will design, coordinate and deliver training content, including induction and cross-border sessions, while leveraging AI-enabled learning to enhance capabilities. You will work with partners, associates and the Knowledge team to align with business needs and firm strategy, shaping a market-leading learning culture.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programmes and courses for fee-earners at all levels across the Groups
• Lead training using Partners and Associates resources and knowledge
• Collaborate with the Training and Knowledge teams to meet Group needs
• Design and deliver the biannual Trainee Induction Course and the Newly Qualified Induction Course
• Coordinate facilitators and update materials for trainee case study programmes
• Coordinate ongoing trainee training cohorts and presentation coaching
• Deliver cross-border and continental Europe induction and immersion sessions
• Develop ad hoc training series and liaise with other groups as needed
• Contribute to developing training across product groups and align with AI tools
• Represent Groups in internal/external committees and participate in Knowledge/Training meetings
• Manage external speakers and coordinate training with the Academy
• Collaborate with Partners/Associates to create external client training talks and store them in the Client Talks Database
• Support Knowledge Lawyers with fee-earner queries and Knowledge projects (e.g., knowhow filtering)
• Deliver HR-related talks (e.g., vacation student intro) and participate in firm initiatives

Key requirements

• Proven experience designing, developing and delivering training programmes in a legal or professional services setting
• Experience creating engaging learning solutions for varied audiences
• End-to-end training programme management (design, coordination, delivery, evaluation, improvement)
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills for large, diverse audiences
• Experience working with subject matter experts and senior stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple training initiatives and meet deadlines
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building with partners, lawyers and external providers
• Experience aligning training strategies with business objectives across teams
• Understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, and their use in learning and knowledge management
