Cloud Security Engineer– Quant Trading

Overview

In this Cloud Security Engineer role, you will help design and secure the firm’s cloud-first infrastructure within a fast-paced, high-scale trading environment. You’ll work with Platform Engineering to integrate cloud and on-premises systems, automate cloud management, and advise development teams on security best practices. The role blends hands-on engineering with policy enforcement to protect critical trading platforms. This is a London-based opportunity at a renowned systematic hedge fund with a strong technical culture and substantial budget for innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud security and infrastructure systems
• Automate management of public cloud resources
• Advise developers and peer teams on security best practices
• Interpret and enforce security policy across cloud and on-premises integrations
• Contribute to integration of cloud with on-premises systems
• Support mid-size cloud deployments (hundreds to thousands of nodes) and ensure scalable, secure configurations

Key requirements

• Degree from a top institution
• Extensive knowledge of modern cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure) and their security properties
• Strong OS, networking, and infrastructure as code experience (Terraform)
• Proficiency in coding infrastructure products in Python, Go, or similar
• Experience designing and maintaining mid-size cloud deployments
• Knowledge of storage and networking options across cloud providers
• Hands-on, adaptable, and able to thrive in a demanding, agile environment
