Technical Program Manager, Front-End Planning and Pre-Construction

Overview

As Front End Planning Regional Program Manager at Google, you act as the SPOC for early-stage data center program delivery, securing seed and shell-ready funding through stage-gate approvals. You coordinate with external partners and internal teams to align design, procurement, and campus planning. You lead end-to-end planning, maintain schedules and risk logs, and drive portfolio visibility. You also own supply planning and scenario modeling while advancing regional improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact for early-stage program management and funding approvals
• Coordinate with external partners (architects, engineering consultants, project controls, general contractors) to ensure delivery alignment
• Partner with Energy and Location Strategy teams on technical reviews and site configurations
• Lead campus planning and maintain integrated master schedules, risk logs, and portfolio performance dashboards
• Act as delivery lead for supply planning and scenario modeling
• Advocate regional continuous improvement initiatives
• Travel regionally up to 25%
• Manage key vendors and campus planning across the region

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience
• A relevant professional license (e.g., PE, CEng, or NCARB)
• 5 years of experience in technical program or project management, including early-stage budget planning, risk management, and project handoff to construction teams
• Experience in pre-construction and design-build delivery specifically for data center projects
• Experience developing baseline project schedules, resource allocation plans, and executive status reporting
• Ability to travel regionally up to 25% of the time
