Senior Software Engineer

Overview

In this role you will help build and evolve scalable, real-time platforms for a UK-based consultancy, blending hands-on development with architectural ownership. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to improve performance, resilience, and documentation while shaping the platform’s design. The position emphasizes cloud-backed delivery on Azure and a modern frontend. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client-facing applications processing large, real-time datasets
• Drive evolution of platform architecture for performance and scalability
• Own technical design decisions across the development lifecycle
• Champion engineering best practices, clean code, testability, and documentation
• Support cloud operations on Microsoft Azure (App Services, CI/CD, Azure Front Door)
• Stay abreast of new tools and AI-assisted development workflows

Key requirements

• Strong C# and .NET expertise with experience designing high-performance, maintainable systems
• Solid database experience
• Familiarity with Agile environments and collaborative code review
• Knowledge of Git and Azure DevOps (desirable); Azure infrastructure and CI/CD experience a plus
• Experience with Vue.js, Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL is a plus
• Ability to translate technical details for non-technical audiences
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and agentic workflows (desired)
