Front End Maintainer

Overview

In this role you support the plant’s production goals by handling mechanical and engineering tasks. You work within a safety- and quality-focused environment, collaborating across shifts to keep equipment running and meet customer specifications. You will diagnose and repair production equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and input real-time data to track performance. This position offers hands-on manufacturing experience in a fast-paced setting with opportunities to broaden skills through various maintenance activities. You will contribute to Ball’s commitment to safe, reliable operations and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and report unsafe conditions
• Support food safety system guidelines and comply with quality standards
• Operate, adjust, and repair production equipment to meet specs
• Disassemble, overhaul, and rebuild production equipment
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on equipment
• Input real-time data via computer terminal
• Inspect in-process or finished products against specifications
• Provide support in other positions as needed for business needs

Key requirements

• Apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Engineering or Mechanical discipline
• Pneumatics and hydraulics experience is essential
• Surface grinding experience is preferable
• Proven experience in an engineering or fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to interpret numerical data
• Proficiency with hand and power tools; forklift operation is an advantage
• Good computer literacy, communication, and organizational skills
