Director Product Design

Overview

As Director of Product Design at Miro, you will lead a small design team while remaining an active designer. You will set the creative vision for your product area and ensure the craft matches the vision. You’ll shape early frameworks, write interaction logic, and refine details that millions will see. You’ll drive design strategy across the Discover–Define–Deliver lifecycle and align cross-functional stakeholders with conviction. This is a pivotal role at an AI-inflection point, offering the opportunity to shape impactful product experiences at scale.

Responsibilities

• Set the creative vision for your product area and ensure the work meets the bar
• Lead, mentor, and grow a product design team across multiple levels with a culture of rigorous critique and psychological safety
• Hands-on contribution to shaping early design frameworks and interaction logic for key problems
• Drive design strategy across Discover, Define, and Deliver lifecycle; ensure the right questions precede the right answers
• Align Product, Engineering, and Analytics around a shared direction and manage ambiguity and tradeoffs
• Run useful design critiques focused on improving the work
• Identify gaps in team capability and advocate for hiring or structural improvements

Key requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience with at least 4 years in people management in a technology company
• Portfolio showing strategic thinking and high-quality craft at both system level and hands-on pixels
• Proven experience designing AI-powered or AI-adjacent product experiences with a clear point of view on dynamic/generative/probabilistic systems
• Fluency with modern design tools, especially Figma, and comfort with or evolving a mature design system
