Overview

Senior Project Risk Management Professional/Director to lead and grow Turner & Townsend’s Scotland Infrastructure Risk team. You will shape risk practice across complex projects, influence client strategy, and mentor junior colleagues while collaborating with a national risk community. This role offers impact on risk governance, project outcomes, and market positioning in Scotland. You will work with cross-functional teams to embed robust risk management and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Risk Management team on complex projects or programmes and coordinate activities
  • Communicate updates to Senior Management and Stakeholders
  • Brief project scope and clarify roles/responsibilities; maintain interfacing relationships
  • Line management, career development and performance management
  • Drive continuous improvement of risk management processes and roll-out changes
  • Promote the benefits and requirements of risk management within project teams
  • Provide subject matter expertise and perform expert analyses (e.g. QCRA, QSRA) for decision-making
  • Train and coach clients and junior team members on risk processes
  • Support management of risk team and related business operations; contribute to national/regional risk communities

Key requirements

  • Tangible experience in managing and delivering risk management on complex projects/programmes
  • Experience interfacing with other project disciplines
  • Experience leading risk management teams
  • Practical experience with risk standards (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA), Quantitative Risk Analysis and software (Safran, @risk, PRA)
  • Experience with risk tools (ARM, Predict!, Risk Controller, riskHive, Xactium)
  • Ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable
  • Security Clearance Requirements is desirable
