Risk Management – all levels

Overview

As a Risk Manager in the Project Controls Team, you will lead risk identification, assessment and prioritisation on high-profile infrastructure projects across energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities. You’ll develop measurable responses, monitor risk exposure against budgets, and deliver clear risk reports to senior management. You’ll apply both qualitative and quantitative methods, using specialist tools to shape contingency and time risk allowances. This role sits within a global professional services firm focused on delivering impactful projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and prioritise threats, opportunities, and issues
• Track trigger points for risk profiling and budget drawdown or retirement
• Develop measurable risk responses and assess mitigated positions
• Monitor overall risk exposure against remaining budget and timeline
• Produce fit-for-purpose risk reports for senior management action
• Understand and apply quantitative risk assessment to inform contingencies and time allowances
• Demonstrate competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA or equivalent
• Familiar with web-based reporting tools (ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI)

• Integrated risk management solutions across portfolios, programmes and projects
• Risk and Scenario Analysis workshop facilitation
• Development of proactive threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation
• Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment including probabilistic modelling
• Broad understanding of Project Controls and risk management interactions
• Experience in risk delivery on major projects or with blue-chip clients
• Energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities project experience advantageous
• IRM/APM risk certification preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
