Overview

As Principal Civil Engineer (Water), you will lead design efforts on water infrastructure projects from concept to delivery. You will work within a dedicated Water Infrastructure team in Bristol to develop robust designs, calculations, and reports, ensuring integration with multidisciplinary workflows. You’ll drive project delivery, support bids, and foster strong client relationships to shape sustainable water solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for diverse water infrastructure projects (1–50 million)
• Develop detailed designs, calculations, drawings, and reports for drainage (including SuDS) and wastewater schemes
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate project elements
• Manage design changes across the project lifecycle
• Support business growth through bid and tender preparation
• Build and maintain strong client relationships

Key requirements

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it with ICE or CIWEM
• Comprehensive knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure design
• Proficiency in project delivery across all stages: detailed design, tender, contract administration
