Project Engineer – HS2

Overview

In this role you will coordinate engineering delivery across complex earthworks packages for HS2, ensuring technical compliance and efficient sequencing. You will work with cross-functional teams to review designs, manage QA, and support programme development. The role focuses on supervising site activities, ensuring adherence to HS2 standards and coordinating with designers, subcontractors, and client teams. This is an opportunity to contribute to a major UK infrastructure project and progress toward senior engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering documentation, QA, and technical assurance
• Review designs, temporary works, and method statements
• Lead inspections and ensure HS2 standard compliance
• Coordinate with designers, subcontractors, and client teams
• Support programme development, risk management, and reporting
• Provide technical guidance to Site Engineers

Key requirements

• Strong civil engineering background on major civils projects
• Experience delivering earthworks or structures
• Solid understanding of temporary works and geotechnical interfaces
