Electrical Engineer

Overview

You will drive electrical design and grid integration for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. Join a fast-growing, collaborative team shaping large-scale renewable infrastructure in the UK. Responsibilities

• Produce and review HV and LV electrical designs for solar and BESS projects
• Prepare and manage grid connection applications with DNOs and National Grid
• Specify and technically evaluate inverter, transformer, switchgear, and BESS equipment
• Conduct power system studies including load flow, fault level, and harmonic analysis
• Provide input into planning applications, EIAs, and infrastructure consenting
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout delivery
• Support construction, installation and commissioning activities
• Explore AI, scripting and automation to improve workflows and delivery
• Stay updated on grid codes, standards, and emerging technologies

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Understanding of UK power systems and grid connection processes
• Familiarity with renewable energy electrical design (Solar PV and/or BESS)
• Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSS/E
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination
• Interest in coding, automation or AI tools (Python advantageous)
• Proactive, self-learning mindset in a fast-moving environment
• Full UK driving licence
• Professional membership or progress toward chartership (advantageous)
