Town Planner / Senior Planner

Overview

Join Carter Jonas’ Infrastructure Consents team in Leeds as a Planner. You will contribute to NSIP and related consent processes, supporting large-scale infrastructure projects across rail, road, energy, and renewal sectors. Responsibilities

• Advise on infrastructure consent regimes (DCO, TWAO, Section 36, TCPA) and Planning Act 2008 procedures
• Lead or support submissions for NSIP projects including DCOs and TWAOs
• Collaborate with large, cross-functional project teams to progress complex developments
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to shape planning strategies and timelines
• Support multiple NSIP and renewable energy projects from inception through consent
• Travel to sites across the UK as needed to support project delivery
• Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities and sharing expertise

Key requirements

• Qualified planner with NSIP experience or equivalent
• Experience managing large and complex project teams
• Knowledge of Planning Act 2008 procedures and various consent regimes
• Willingness to travel across the UK; flexibility for hybrid/flexible working
• Experience working with leading infrastructure clients (e.g., Network Rail, National Highways, National Grid) is a plus
