Engineer / Senior Engineer – Infrastructure Design Engineer – Flexible Location – North West

Overview

As a Highway/Civil Engineer, you will design and deliver highways and drainage infrastructure across public and development projects. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, taking ownership from concept to delivery and acting as a primary point of contact for clients and authorities. You will lead schemes to meet standards such as DMRB and local authority requirements, delivering robust, compliant designs. This role offers exposure to diverse projects across the North West, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement. You will help shape sustainable infrastructure solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of highway and drainage schemes (S278, S38, S104, S185)
• Produce calculations, specifications, and technical reports to standards
• Manage projects from concept through to completion
• Engage with statutory bodies and approval processes
• Support commercial performance and risk management
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practice
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

Key requirements

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering with progression towards chartership (CEng MICE/CIHT)
• Strong experience in highways and drainage design including SuDS
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D (or Site 3D/PDS) and MicroDrainage
• Good understanding of statutory approvals and commercial awareness
• Full UK driving licence
