Resident Service Engineer – Doncaster

Overview

In this role you will service and repair Crown equipment at customer sites, ensuring safety and quality standards. You will work to planned schedules, manage site stock, and maintain thorough paperwork. You will inspect repaired trucks, uphold tool and equipment safety, and collaborate with teams to meet deadlines. The position combines hands-on engineering with a focus on reliability and customer service, within Crown’s culture of innovation and people-first values.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service and repair work on customer equipment
• Follow planned maintenance schedules and meet deadlines
• Monitor and count site stock for daily maintenance needs
• Inspect trucks for safety and functional integrity
• Complete job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisitions accurately and promptly
• Manage equipment and tools safely (van, laptop, printer, etc.)
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and quality procedures
• Work independently or as part of a team to deliver service quality

Key requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Proficiency in fault finding and repair
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C (or equivalent)
• Experience with Health & Safety in workshop practices
• Commitment to personal and professional development
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
