Software Engineer – Algo Trading

Overview

You will join a London-based quant trading firm to design and build trading algorithms and a new low-latency platform. You’ll collaborate with the Head of Trading and a quant team to implement cross-asset strategies and connect to financial exchanges. The role includes maintaining existing strategies, building utilities, and translating trader requirements into robust software. This is a fast, collaborative environment with flat structure and a strong focus on practical impact. You’ll gain exposure to high-frequency trading while helping scale innovative trading solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head of Trading and Quant Team to design and develop new trading algorithms (Java and C++)
• Develop a greenfield, low-latency trading platform
• Implement connectivity to financial exchanges
• Improve and maintain existing trading strategies
• Build utility applications and Excel-based tools to support trading activities
• Engage with traders to gather requirements and resolve issues

Key requirements

• BSc/MSc/PhD in Computer Science or Machine Learning from a top 40 university
• Excellent Java and/or C++ experience
• SQL proficiency
• Solid understanding of general programming concepts, diligent coder
• Interest in capital markets/crypto market making is a plus
