Software Developer – Data Platform

Overview

In this role you will help design, implement, and maintain Python-based data libraries, services, and pipelines used by trading, back-testing, and research teams. You will collaborate with technologists and researchers to deliver scalable data solutions and front-end features when needed. You’ll contribute to a robust data platform that supports fast, reliable data access while reducing technical debt. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, optimize, and troubleshoot Python libraries, frameworks, and services
• Enhance React frontends when appropriate to support data applications
• Collaborate with technologists to align data platform with evolving business needs
• Work with data operations and data pipeline teams to improve velocity and reduce technical debt
• Write and review technical documents (requirements, design docs, runbooks)
• Participate in production support during normal hours to investigate higher-order issues
• Acquire deep understanding of interface and tooling requirements of developers to deliver right solutions

Key requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM
• Strong Python programming
• Practical knowledge of data transfer protocols/tools (FTP, SFTP, HTTP APIs, AWS S3)
