Project Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will drive the commercial management of a flagship Cardiff development from pre-construction to handover. You’ll collaborate with the project manager, site team, subcontractors and consultants to control costs, procurement and contract matters, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. This role sits at the core of a regeneration-focused team, offering impact across financial governance and project performance. You’ll operate in a high-stakes, complex environment and shape commercial outcomes for a major scheme.

Responsibilities

• oversee commercial management from pre-construction through completion
• manage costs, procurement and contractual matters across the project lifecycle
• collaborate with Project Manager, site team, subcontractors and consultants
• control project costs and procurement to support on-time, within-budget delivery
• manage valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
• maintain strong commercial and contractual awareness across the project

Key requirements

• proven experience as Project QS or Senior QS in construction
• strong experience on concrete frame structures (essential)
• experience on large-scale or complex developments
• strong understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
• excellent commercial and contractual awareness
• LWSF experience is advantageous
• strong communication and negotiation skills
• ability to work within a wider project team while managing own commercial responsibilities
