Overview

In this role you support cost management for a Mobility portfolio across Rail, Highway and Aviation projects in the UK. You work closely with clients, contractors and internal teams to monitor costs, forecast, and prepare commercial data to inform decisions. Based in the London area, you will engage on-site and help improve cost processes and service delivery. You contribute to a capable, cross-functional team delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support cost management across Rail, Highway and Aviation projects within the Mobility portfolio
  • Manage cost monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis within established financial processes
  • Prepare and contribute to cost plans, budgets, estimates and commercial reports
  • Assist senior colleagues with small to medium-scale commissions or components of larger assignments
  • Identify risks, issues and commercial challenges and escalate as appropriate
  • Provide guidance on risk and compliance principles and ensure alignment with procedures
  • Build effective relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders through clear communication
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes and service innovation

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cost or commercial management within infrastructure, transport or construction projects
  • Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and compensation events (essential)
  • Strong ability to analyse data, interpret cost information and produce accurate commercial documentation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and stay organized under pressure
  • Solid understanding of construction processes and cost management methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Near-attainment or attainment of relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS); CSCS card holder or willingness to obtain
