In this role you will support and deliver geotechnical input for a diverse project portfolio, collaborating with civil and structural teams to develop practical, buildable solutions. You will design and manage ground investigations, interpret data, and conduct geotechnical analyses to support residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure schemes. Responsibilities

• Designing and managing ground investigations (specification, procurement, supervision)
• Interpreting ground investigation data and preparing factual/interpretative reports
• Conducting geotechnical analyses (foundation design, slope stability, earthworks, retaining structures, ground improvement)
• Using software such as GeoStudio, SLOPE/W, WALLAP (or similar) for analysis
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulators to support project delivery
• Contributing to multidisciplinary design teams and mentoring junior staff

Key requirements

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related discipline
• Experience in a consultancy or contracting environment
• Strong understanding of UK ground conditions, geotechnical design principles, and relevant standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Progress toward professional accreditation (IEng/CEng/Chartered Geologist) is advantageous
