Electrical Design Engineer – HV Systems

Overview

As part of the Power Grids Design team, you will lead HV cable system design for tenders and contracts, shaping high‑voltage solutions for transmission and windfarm projects in the UK. You will collaborate with Prysmian design groups, maintain contract records, and support customers and internal teams with technical expertise. The role drives UK product approvals and contributes to winning bids through robust, cost‑effective designs. This is a hands‑on opportunity to impact large‑scale energy infrastructure in a global leader.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical details and cost‑effective HV cable system design proposals for inquiries and during contract execution
• Coordinate with Prysmian Affiliate Design teams to support the UK and design coordination activities
• Maintain contract records for future reference
• Provide technical support, training and services to internal functions and customers
• Drive product approvals for UK customers

Key requirements

• Previous experience in HV systems design on complex, large scale projects
• Degree level education in Electrical Engineering
• Desirable: experience with Mathcad; training available
