Construction Planner

Overview

In this development-focused role, you will support the creation and upkeep of project programmes across fast-paced fit out and refurbishment projects. You’ll work with project managers, site teams and planning specialists to learn and apply planning practices, report progress, and identify risks and opportunities. The role combines on-site insight with planning skills to drive timely delivery. You’ll receive mentoring and hands-on training to build a career in construction planning, with a clear progression path.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of project programmes across multiple fit out and refurbishment projects
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers and construction teams to understand requirements and delivery strategies
• Assist with programme updates, progress reporting and project controls
• Identify risks, opportunities and programme constraints
• Learn to create detailed project programmes using industry-leading planning software
• Support tender and pre-construction teams with programme development and logistics planning
• Monitor project performance against key milestones and delivery targets
• Participate in project reviews, lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives

Key requirements

• Background in site-based construction (Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, Site Engineer or similar)
• Exposure to fit out, refurbishment, commercial, retail, healthcare, education or workplace projects
• Strong understanding of construction activities, sequencing and project delivery
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
