Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Overview

In this role you will design, develop, test and maintain cloud-based software within Version 1’s Digital & Cloud Practice. You will provide technical leadership to deliver scalable, secure solutions in agile environments and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders. You’ll own product design and estimation, document architectures, and support knowledge transfer and coaching of junior team members. The work includes large-scale transformational and migration projects for public and private sector clients. A clear security clearance (SC) or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain cloud-based software applications
• Provide technical leadership to deliver scalable, secure solutions in line with industry practices (code quality, CI/CD, security)
• Operate within an agile project delivery methodology
• Take technical ownership for a product/solution including design, estimation, shaping and user story creation
• Document solutions (architecture, configuration, release, handover)
• Collaborate with Version 1 and customer stakeholders across the software development lifecycle
• Explain technical designs clearly to stakeholders of varying technical levels
• Provide knowledge transfer to team members and customers
• Manage, coach and develop junior team members and foster a positive, collaborative environment

Key requirements

• Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns (microservices, message-driven)
• NFR/non-functional requirement awareness for architecting and developing applications
• Application/Digital Services Design experience
• Experience in Code Reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and SOLID/DRY principles
• Hands-on development experience with Frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, React, Node) and Backend (Java, SpringBoot, Hibernate, Kotlin)
• Experience in estimation and sizing
• Integration experience
• API design experience
• Cloud experience
• Willingness to work with emerging AI technologies
• SC Eligible
