Application Support Engineer – Fintech SQL

Overview

In this role you will support and implement a proprietary front office software used by Portfolio Managers, traders and analysts in the financial sector. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve products, influence product growth through client feedback, and provide technical expertise during deployments and upgrades. You will also handle post go-live configuration to optimize client environments and contribute to departmental initiatives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial fintech setting in London.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, implementation specialists, account managers and other stakeholders to enhance products and services
• Influence product growth using client feedback and implemented solutions in client environments
• Provide technical expertise during deployment and upgrade of the software
• Perform post go-live configuration work and development to improve customer environments
• Propose departmental initiatives to improve processes and team goals

Key requirements

• A degree from a reputable university in computer science or technology
• Advanced SQL Server T-SQL skills
• In-depth understanding of join types, sub queries, functions, stored procedures, and optimization (SQL test will be administered)
• Experience of application support
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Enthusiasm for technology and finance
• Some experience with XML/XPath/XSLT technologies – or the ability to rapidly learn
