Designer – Roofing, Cladding & Rainscreen Façades

Overview

As a Designer, you will own the design process for roofing, cladding and rainscreen façade projects from concept to delivery. You’ll work with the Design Manager and project teams to produce practical, technically accurate solutions. You will develop detailed drawings, elevations and junction details while coordinating with consultants and subcontractors. The role combines hands-on design with coordination to ensure compliant, build-ready designs. This is a values-driven, ownership-focused opportunity in a growing specialist contractor.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings for roofing, cladding and/or rainscreen façade projects
• Develop elevations, sections, junction details and setting-out information
• Review project information and identify design requirements and interfaces
• Carry out site surveys where required
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants and subcontractors
• Support technical approvals, submittals and RFIs
• Schedule materials required to deliver each project
• Resolve design and coordination issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure designs comply with regulations, fire safety requirements and project specifications

Key requirements

• 3+ years’ relevant design experience
• Experience in industrial roofing, cladding and/or rainscreen façades
• Strong technical drawing and detailing ability
• Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Good knowledge of façade/roofing systems, fixings and interfaces
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
