Overview
In this senior, commercially focused role, you set the strategic marketing and communications direction for Sanctuary Care and Sanctuary Supported Living. You lead a multi-disciplinary team, manage agency partnerships, and align activity with growth, reputation, and occupancy objectives. You translate customer and market insight into strategic action that strengthens the brand and improves self-funder enquiries. The role combines leadership, governance, and hands-on delivery across multi-channel marketing to drive impact at scale.

Responsibilities
- Set and lead marketing and communications strategy for the Commercial arm aligned to business priorities
- Drive self-funder enquiry generation, conversion and care home occupancy through integrated marketing plans
- Lead brand, reputation and customer communications across a national portfolio
- Translate customer, market and performance insight into clear recommendations for action
- Oversee marketing performance, budget, ROI, and continuous improvement
- Lead digital marketing, website, SEO, reviews, and customer journey improvements
- Own talent marketing to strengthen employer brand and attract staff across roles
- Manage agency and supplier partnerships to ensure quality and value
- Provide senior advisory support to operational and commercial colleagues on reputational risks and local challenges
- Lead governance across brand standards, data protection, advertising standards, and AI-generated content
- Inspire and develop a specialist marketing team and contribute to strategic projects and transformation
- Contribute to growth and customer experience improvements through strategic initiatives
Key requirements
- Senior marketing and communications leadership experience
- Strategic development of marketing and communications plans that drive growth and customer engagement
- Strong experience in self-funder enquiry generation and performance marketing in care or similar sectors
- Proven ability to lead multi-channel campaigns and manage brand, PR, content, social media and customer communications
- Experience with talent marketing/employer branding is desirable
- Ability to influence directors and senior stakeholders with clear strategic insights
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment with data-driven decision making
- Experience managing large budgets and external agencies
- People leadership experience with team development
- Knowledge of marketing governance, data protection, and responsible AI use
- Degree-level qualification or CIM is desirable but not mandatory
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is desirable
