Overview

As MEP Operations Director, you will lead the delivery of complex MEP projects across the UK and Europe, aligning operational performance with safety, timeliness, budget, and quality. You will partner with senior leaders to shape delivery strategy and scale capability for growth. The role combines cross-region leadership, client engagement, and continuous improvement in regulated, mission-critical environments. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role with international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations across a portfolio of UK/Europe MEP projects
• Oversee delivery in pharma, industrial, and data centre sectors
• Ensure projects are on time, on budget, and meet quality and safety standards
• Provide direction to project teams, regional managers and site teams
• Develop and implement operational strategies to support growth and efficiency
• Monitor performance, identify risks and corrective actions
• Ensure consistent application of processes and delivery standards
• Support bid/preconstruction/mobilisation for new projects
• Maintain senior-level client relationships and represent the business
• Drive continuous improvement across delivery, safety, quality, and commercial performance
• Oversee resource planning and site allocation
• Ensure HSE and regulatory compliance
• Support recruitment and development of key operational staff
• Perform ad-hoc international travel for site oversight and client engagement

Key requirements

• Senior operational experience in an MEP contractor environment (e.g., Operations Director, Regional Director)
• Proven track record delivering complex MEP projects in pharma, industrial, and/or data centre sectors
• Ability to manage multiple projects across regions simultaneously
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management at senior levels
• Solid understanding of MEP delivery, commercial management, and programme control
• Experience in UK and European construction markets is highly desirable
• Strategic thinking with a focus on operational performance and growth
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Degree-qualified or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline) preferred
