Project Manager (Main Contractor) | Permanent | Chelmsford, Essex

Overview

In this role you will lead a 2.5m new build steel frame industrial project from start to completion for a growing main contractor. You will sit within a project delivery team focused on industrial warehouses, retail and mixed-use schemes, coordinating on-site and with stakeholders in Chelmsford, Essex. You drive project execution, safety and quality while maintaining schedule and budget across the build phase. This is a hands-on PM position that offers impact in delivering a flagship steel frame industrial project within a dynamic contracting environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project delivery from start to finish on a new build steel frame industrial project
• Manage site activities, safety, quality, and compliance to programme
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders to maintain schedule
• Monitor cost, risks, and change control to protect project margins
• Ensure adherence to CM standards and client requirements

Key requirements

• Experience as Project Manager for a reputable Main Contractor
• Track record on new build industrial / warehouse projects
• Steel frame construction experience
• SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid
• Able to commute to Chelmsford, Essex
