Overview

In this role you apply advanced hydrogeology to support minerals and resources projects, informing groundwater risk, permitting, and environmental performance. You’ll work with a collaborative team across sectors, delivering robust conceptual models, investigations, and data interpretation to drive value for clients. You’ll mentor junior staff and contribute to business development as the UK ERG grows. This is an opportunity to shape groundwater understanding at scale while engaging with regulators and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • conduct groundwater investigations and aquifer testing
  • perform groundwater monitoring and hydrogeological risk assessment
  • develop conceptual models and numerical groundwater modelling
  • support abstraction licensing and discharge permitting
  • prepare technical reports for clients, regulators, and stakeholders
  • collaborate with hydrogeology, hydrology, and ground engineering teams
  • mentor junior colleagues and contribute to team development
  • participate in business development and project growth
  • travel to UK offices and project sites as required

Key requirements

  • degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Water Resources or related discipline
  • relevant MSc or PhD welcomed
  • significant consulting experience in groundwater studies
  • experience with environmental impact assessments, quarrying, dewatering, water resources, abstraction and discharge, regulatory engagement
  • ability to develop robust hydrogeological conceptual models and interpret data
  • experience preparing hydrogeological assessments and documentation for permits and regulators
  • strong report-writing and communication skills
  • familiarity with groundwater abstraction and discharge permitting; Flood Risk Assessments a plus
  • clear communication with diverse audiences
