Overview
In this role, you lead a UK FCDO-funded initiative to strengthen Bangladesh’s financial sector. You will drive strategic delivery, ensure quality and compliance, and coordinate with regulators, central banks and development partners. You’ll oversee multi-workstream integration, stakeholder dialogues and risk management to achieve transformative outcomes. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape financial inclusion and regulatory reform at scale.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and quality assurance across the programme
- Coordinate with FCDO, central bank, government counterparts and development partners
- Ensure integration of workstreams (central bank transformation, financial infrastructure, regulatory reform) with programme objectives
- Manage stakeholder relationships and represent the programme at policy dialogues and steering forums
- Oversee deliverables through Technical Leads and short-term experts, ensuring technical soundness and KPI alignment
- Drive adaptive learning and inform programme adjustments
- Oversee capacity-building and sustainability planning for counterparts
- Ensure compliance with FCDO contract management KPIs and value-for-money principles
- Lead a multidisciplinary team and mentor senior staff to strengthen local leadership capacity
Key requirements
- Experience leading large-scale donor-funded programmes
- Proven work with central banks, financial regulators and government institutions in developing countries
- Strong understanding of financial inclusion, digital finance and regulatory tech
- Senior-level experience with central banks and government institutions in developing countries
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Advanced degree in economics, finance, public policy or related field
- Proven track record in institutional transformation of central banks or similar bodies, including governance reforms and capacity-building
- Fluency in English; Bangla knowledge is an asset
