Chief Technology Officer – National Security, Safety & Energy

Overview

In this role you provide strategic technical leadership for the UK&I Public Sector & Defence industry, shaping technology roadmaps and growth. You’ll collaborate with CEPs, sales, delivery teams and partners to turn strategy into measurable outcomes. You’ll sign off on deals, nurture C-level relationships, and drive innovation and capability building. The position offers exposure to cross-functional teams and a chance to influence large-scale public sector transformation. You join a senior leadership team focused on breaking new ground in Atos’ PS&D agenda.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across the PS&D industry
• Develop industry-specific technology strategies and roadmaps with CEPs and Sales
• Shape future positioning for the industry in alignment with policy and investment needs
• Drive growth within the industry by supporting sales and business development with market analysis and client workshops
• Collaborate with Business Lines to create industry-specific solutions leveraging existing assets
• Act as formal sign-off / red reviewer for industry deals to ensure business and technical excellence
• Build and maintain relationships with C-level stakeholders to identify long-term value opportunities
• Foster innovation through technology trend awareness and targeted innovation sessions
• Lead and develop the Account CTOs and Lead Architect community; collaborate with other Industry CTOs
• Mentor junior staff and participate in Industry Social Value initiatives
• Demonstrate Thought Leadership through public speaking, articles, and industry forums
• Collaborate with Partners, Suppliers and SMEs on growth and innovation

Key requirements

• UK SC clearance or ability to obtain SC
• Recent experience with clients within PS&D
• Proven leadership in enterprise architecture and technology strategy
• Expertise across at least two of: Data & AI, Cloud and Modern Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Digital Workplace, Digital Applications and Smart Platforms
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders (CxOs, Industry Heads, Business Line leaders)
• Commercial awareness and financial acumen, including budget management
• Experience in end-to-end client account delivery across sales, delivery, service, and roadmap planning
