Public Law & Human Rights Solicitor NQ – 4 PQE – Cardiff

Overview

In this role you will manage a Court of Protection welfare caseload and represent vulnerable clients in sensitive disputes. You will work within a Public Law & Human Rights team to protect clients’ rights, while developing the team’s profile and collaborating with partner organisations. You’ll deliver clear, empathetic advice and handle complex welfare matters with independence and team support. This is an opportunity to contribute to access to justice in health, care and personal autonomy through meaningful, high-stakes litigation.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own Court of Protection welfare caseload
• Represent clients in complex and sensitive disputes
• Supervise and support junior colleagues
• Help develop the team’s profile and strengthen relationships with partner organisations
• Work directly with vulnerable individuals, delivering advice with empathy and professionalism
• Contribute to wider public law and human rights matters

Key requirements

• Experience running own COP welfare matters
• Passion for public law, human rights and access to justice
