Manufacturing Director

Overview

As Manufacturing Director, you will lead the site’s Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Reliability Engineering to standardize best-in-class practices and deliver sustained improvements. You’ll drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost using DBS tools, aligning with high-volume, regulated production. You’ll develop talent, build cross-functional partnerships, and guide transformative initiatives across Cytiva’s Discovery & Medical operations. This role uniquely shapes how we scale and improve critical life-science manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead site Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Reliability Engineering across regulated operations and diverse production environments
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost through disciplined DBS tool adoption (Daily Management, Standard Work, VSM, 5S, TPM, PSP)
• Deliver sustained improvements in OTD, yield, OEE, equipment availability, and productivity through better flow and maintenance
• Partner with EHS, Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality, and DBS leaders to close performance gaps and run Kaizen initiatives
• Lead Manufacturing Engineering and Reliability Engineering to optimize process capability, equipment performance, and lifecycle asset reliability
• Build cross-functional relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to reduce disruption and improve value stream responsiveness
• Develop, coach, and engage manufacturing and engineering talent, strengthening leadership and DBS competency across the site
• Report to the Operations Director and contribute as part of the Senior Site Leadership Team

Key requirements

• Bachelor or Master in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience (minimum Bachelor)
• Significant progressive leadership experience in high-volume, lean-driven manufacturing environments, ideally Life Sciences or regulated industry with automation
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate issues and solutions to customers and teams
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic setting with a customer-first mindset
• Proven ability to energize, develop, build rapport, collaborate, and influence at all levels
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and work across manufacturing, cleanroom, laboratory, and office environments
• Experience or familiarity with Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Diagnostics, Medical Device, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing and Lean/CI methods is a plus
