Senior Proposals Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the proposals function within Willmott Dixon’s Birmingham operation, shaping high-quality, customer-focused bids across multiple sectors. You will collaborate with preconstruction, bid managers, and subject matter experts to develop winning strategies and deliver engaging, well-crafted content. You’ll drive the proposal process from planning to submission, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and compelling submissions that align with our sustainability-focused mission. This is a hands-on, cross-functional leadership role with a clear impact on winning projects and elevating our customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the proposals process and assemble the right team to produce winning bids
• Produce high-quality submissions on time and within budget
• Coordinate and lead input from proposal contributors and SMEs
• Develop proposal plans, schedules, and win strategies with the bid team
• Coordinate inputs and lead answer review sessions
• Manage production of PQQs and tender documentation
• Address proposal development issues and ensure timely delivery of deliverables
• Incorporate creative ideas and lessons learned into proposals
• Assess technical requirements and shape proposals
• Contribute to customer presentations to be customer-focused
• Monitor progress and support team members

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a proposals or bid management role within the construction industry
• Exceptional project management skills handling multiple teams
• Understanding of different proposals processes

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Leadership and stakeholder management
• APMP membership and accreditation
• CIM qualification or working towards
• InDesign/Photoshop experience
