Overview

In this role, you will help grow MUFG’s market-leading energy and infrastructure advisory business. You will work within ESFO’s Financial Advisory team to structure funding solutions and manage the end-to-end advisory process. You’ll engage with banks, funds, and authorities to tailor financing structures and drive deals through to close. The role emphasizes cross-team collaboration, client relationships, and developing a robust advisory pipeline for diverse funding sources. Responsibilities

  • Lead or support advisory mandates from mandate letter to financial close, including information memoranda, financial structuring, negotiations with funders, and due diligence management.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key clients, lawyers, procuring authorities, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Coordinate with internal MUFG teams and external stakeholders to refine strategy and enhance client services.
  • Contribute to business development through opportunity identification, proposal preparation, and client marketing.
  • Prepare and present internal committee materials and assist in internal approvals (BCRA, Business Screening, KYC).
  • Propose solutions to meet client needs in collaboration with MUFG specialist functions for tailored outcomes.
  • Ensure market-leading, sound execution across deal origination, structuring, and execution.
  • Coordinate with international structured finance teams and manage overseas travel as required.
  • Support MUS product marketing and origination by sharing data and insights within the governance framework.

Key requirements

  • Structured Finance understanding is required.
  • Ability to lead on advisory mandates with senior support on complex aspects.
  • Familiarity with financing documentation (e.g., CTAs) and credit/risk knowledge in structured finance.
  • Multi-product experience across bank, public and private DCM; project finance modelling knowledge beneficial.
  • Analytical skills to interrogate financial models; clear communication and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Language: foreign language skills (German/French/Spanish) beneficial but not essential.
