Overview
In this role you will lead a small finance team in Edinburgh to govern transactional finance activities across the AAM UK Group. You’ll ensure accurate, timely payments, robust controls, and efficient processes while supporting the wider Finance function. You will drive continuous improvement to raise service quality and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position within a global asset management organisation with a strong emphasis on risk management and responsible investing.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small team responsible for transactional finance activities across the AAM UK Group
- Oversee company bank accounts, daily reconciliations and journal postings
- Manage payment processing and bank transfers through Bankline with strong controls
- Oversee accounts payable to ensure timely payments and accurate creditors ledger
- Manage corporate payments and related accounting entries
- Oversee corporate credit card administration and monitor company expenditure
- Ensure travel, reward and benefits payments are processed accurately and on time
- Maintain fixed asset register, process depreciation journals and assist intercompany reconciliations within AAM UK
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and increase operational efficiency
Key requirements
- ACCA, CIMA or ICAS professional accounting qualification
- Previous management experience in a finance or transactional services environment
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, banking, reconciliations, payroll-related processes and financial controls
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to engage at all levels
- Proactive, continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing process enhancements
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
