Overview
In this role you support the Private Capital Corporate Tax team to grow the tax practice across the central belt, focusing on mid-market and owner-managed businesses. You will manage client portfolios, deliver corporate tax compliance and advisory work, and supervise junior staff while developing relationships with clients and cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients (owner-managed, private equity-backed, large groups) and oversee corporation tax work and specialist claims
- Lead and review work of junior staff; report to Partners/Directors where applicable
- Coordinate tax compliance, tax accounting, and audit of tax activities; liaise with Audit and other teams
- Coach and develop junior staff; identify and pursue business development opportunities; participate in pitches and proposals
- Organise delivery of tax work and problem-solve daily; act as main client contact to build networks
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to meet deadlines and client requirements
- Be commercially minded and responsive to client needs and market changes
Key requirements
- Qualified ACA, ATT, or CTA; experience in corporate tax
- Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and international tax concepts
- Experience reviewing work and supervising staff in a tax environment
- Experience managing corporate tax compliance portfolios and tax accounting / audit of tax
- Excellent communication skills; ability to grow and deliver on key client accounts
