Global Health & Safety Controls Lead

Overview

As Global Health & Safety Controls Lead, you will shape and implement HSE management systems to meet regulatory and ISO standards, aligned with Turner & Townsend’s strategic needs. You’ll set policies, standards and controls to ensure a safe workplace for employees, contractors and visitors. You will partner with regional leaders to integrate H&S procedures, lead cross-functional project teams, and drive the Safer Together Strategy. This role offers impact across global operations, with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance. You will work in a collaborative, safety‑conscious environment that values continuous improvement and transformation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior regional leadership to integrate procedures and standards into regional operations
• Support sales and solutioning with H&S controls for RFI/RFP and contracts
• Provide leadership and guidance to managers on health and safety controls and assurance of compliance
• Lead small internal project teams to develop and implement H&S procedures within the BMS
• Establish a global controls framework with standards, processes and management systems
• Mitigate health and safety risks by developing and communicating global controls across operations
• Ensure supply chains have capability to contribute to H&S aims and Safer Together Strategy
• Develop emergency response procedures and rapid recovery plans

Key requirements

• Certification from an Occupational Safety & Health accreditation body (e.g., NEBOSH, BCSP)
• Senior H&S management experience, preferably in construction, heavy industrial, infrastructure, refining or manufacturing
• Working knowledge of regional H&S operating standards
• Strong understanding of H&S Management System and key procedures
• Experience developing H&S procedures and elements of a management system
• Knowledge of RIDDOR regulations
• Knowledge of OSHA standards
• Experience leading EHSMS or equivalent management systems in a large organization
• Change management experience to embed practices and measure HSMS performance
• Supply chain exposure to H&S programs
